Balinese Gamelan by Jagat Gamelan

Jagat Gamelan Bali will perform three compositions, first: Tari Pendet Penyambutan, a welcome dance which is derived from the sacred Rejang dance, where the dancer(s) present offerings to the gods. Second: Tabuh Lengker, an instrumental piece with a traditional Semar Pegulingan piece, in which the solo trompong (long row of pots) player has to demonstrate improvisational skill.

Last but not least: Topeng Tua, a traditional masked dance which usually follows Topeng Keras when danced during a complete Topeng performance. Topeng Tua is the character of the elderly minister, who has difficulty moving his tired limbs, as well as having problems with lice-infested hair!
